Introduction. Kawai is a family owned business and they are piano builders who command great respect among pianists. They are not as famous as their fellow Japanese piano builders, Yamaha, but they do have a very significant and loyal following. Build quality of Kawai is very high indeed and certainly comparable to their rivals. Märchen at one time acted as a sub-brand for Kawai, which is now a very common thing for many other companies.

The Piano. The wonderful Märchen piano we have here in stock is a superb instrument which we have rather fallen in love with. We believe it is a really intelligent option for pianists needing a mature, serious and versatile instrument and balancing that need with a more restrained budget. In many ways it is the perfect piano. It is suitable for pianists who are just beginning their piano playing journey right through to those who are already accomplished pianists. This wonderful upright piano is a superb example of Japanese piano craftsmanship. The action is smooth and easy to use producing a clear even tone across the keyboard.

This piano stands at 123cm tall, 152cm long and 61cm deep. It is in excellent condition with a smooth action and an even medium/warm tone throughout the range.

Purchase Options. We are offering this piano for sale at £3100. This price includes delivery, an adjustable stool, first tuning and a 3 year warranty. It is possible to spread payments over time, all interest free.

Customers can also rent this piano on a 6-month scheme which carries the option of purchase at the end of the term. There is a monthly rental fee of £130 or if you prefer, you can pay a one-off fee of £780. The balance of £2320 is to be paid 6 months later. This balance can then be paid over an agreed period.

This scheme is a great way to try out having a piano in your home. If you decide that piano playing isn’t for you, we will simply collect the piano and no additional charge will be made.

Accessories. We have a collection of accessories which we hope will enhance your piano playing experience. There are caster cups which offer protection to your floors, a carpet to protect your piano from underfloor heating, lamps, polishes and cloths.
