Kawai are piano builders who command great respect among pianists. They may not be as famous as their fellow Japanese piano builders, Yamaha, but they do have a very significant and loyal following. Build quality of Kawai is very high indeed and certainly comparable to their rivals.
This CX-5 model is a super instrument and this one is a well rounded performer. It is an ideal piano for pianists who are just beginning their piano playing journey right through to those who are already accomplished pianists. It might be compact but it has maturity, feels good to play and has a wonderful rich sound. It has an 88 key keyboard and 2 pedals. It doesn’t have a practice pedal but does have a mechanism so that you can practice without disturbing others in your household.
Kawai pianos underwent huge development through the 1960’s and 1970’s which resulted in excellent pianos such as this wonderful upright piano and is among the best of Japanese piano craftsmanship.
